Of Course Spanish – Terms & Conditions (T&C) for the provision of Spanish tuition
Fees & Payment
Course fees may be paid by Bank transfer (Sterling only), Cheque (Sterling only drawn on a UK bank), Debit/ Credit card or PayPal, or Cash. Fees are to be paid in advance of the start of the course. Cheque or cash payments may be made at the school at the first lesson of the course, prior to lessons commencing
Subsequent to a trial lesson, the agreed ‘block’ of lessons must be paid for in full (cleared funds) prior to any lessons commencing.
Cancellation & Refunds
Our courses are run on the basis of a minimum number of students to make them viable. Before a course starts we therefore rely on payment of course fees to confirm a student’s place on a course to be sure of student numbers and to confirm the course is going ahead to other students.
Generally, once a course has been confirmed, unless the school cancels it, refunds will not be offered as this can impact on the viability of the course and affect the other students. We will, however, endeavour to try to offer alternative solutions such as crediting a course fee a course towards a subsequent term, depending on the financial situation relating to the course a student is initially on. Any offer is at the sole discretion of the school, however. Please note that if a partial or full refund is offered, we reserve the right to charge an administration fee to cover our time involved in pre- and post- course exchanges with the student during placement on a course. In the case of a refund, any such fee will be deducted from the refund amount, but will be advised in advance of any refund being offered to the student.
In the event the minimum number of students is not reached to run a course, alternatives may be offered; for example to run the course as a small group, 2-to-1, etc, or by shortening the course length to reflect the extra attention students receive in this situation. In such a case, the offer will be made before the course is started. Acceptance of any offer is at the student’s discretion, and should the course not go ahead as planned, any courses fees which have been paid will be refunded in full.
In the event that a lesson has to be cancelled, every effort will be made to re-schedule the lesson at a convenient time for the students and the tutor.
To protect our investment in time and funds in acquiring students for the school, the school's tutors have a contractual agreement with the school whereby they agree not to work independently for any of the individuals or companies introduced to them by either by the school or by an individual or company for whom they have been providing tuition on behalf of the school. This agreement also provides for Of Course Spanish to recover any funds paid directly to the tutor by the student/company, without deduction, should there be a breach of this agreement.
We ask, therefore, that students do not approach tutors to provide them with tuition independently of Of Course Spanish, so as not to compromise their relationship with us.
Variations to these Terms and Conditions
Variations to the above T&C may be made in certain situations. In this event, the variations must be agreed to in writing (email is sufficient) by both the school and the student/company and will be binding.
